
Both Kämpf and Kaše have had a positive impact on special teams in particular. Of late, the power play (25 per cent, sixth in the league) and penalty kill (third at 87.5 per cent) have helped overcome a lack of finish at even strength. All of that represents a bonus for the Leafs, who landed Kämpf ($1.5 million U.S.) and Kaše ($1.25 million) at bargain prices on the free-agent market.
