The knives were out for Mike Babcock long before the Leafs cut ties


On May 6, when GM Kyle Dubas said he was “all in” on coach Babcock keeping his job, few believed him. It was more or less a waiting game, with a slow start to the season the excuse to strike. Dubas had been floating Sheldon Keefe’s name since before Babcock was hired.
